What is Reiki?

You may have heard of energy healing or even experienced it at some point in your life. Reiki is an energy healing modality that has been practiced for centuries. Reiki came to me during a period of time that I was looking for relief from extreme stress and anxiety. Reiki is way to achieve balance and peace in your stressful life. 



Reiki is universal energy that connects our higher self with everything that is around us. Every living thing consists of energy. This energy goes by different names such as chi, prana, soul, ki. Reiki is not affiliated with any religion but is a tool to achieve spiritual and mental growth.

Reiki may bring clarity, relaxation and energy to whomever is receiving it. It may assist in the diminishing of physical pain while speeding up natural healing. Reiki helps to get rid of energy blockages and also release emotional baggage. Reiki recipients have experienced decrease levels of stress and anxiety and feelings of contentment. All of this is achieved by the increase in the body’s vibrational frequency.


During a session recipients could notice some physical sensations. Those sensations could be a change in temperature, light tingling, feelings of relaxation and sleepiness, a tugging in the area where the reiki was being given. Some recipients may not experience any sensations other than relaxation and that is totally common and normal. The effects of reiki energy could be felt even the days following a treatment.
